Tomato Chutney
Tomato chutney is usually an accompaniment with the Toor Dal (Yellow pigeon pea split) and rice. In our house, it is a Sunday special light food. Since it is a very easy meal to make, it is a perfect lunch to make on a lazy Sunday. You can adjust the spices according to your taste.

Small Tomatoes chopped

Instructions

Turn the stove on and in a pan add oil.

When the oil is hot add the mustard seeds.

After the seeds splutter add the chopped onions, serrano pepper and ginger to the pan.

When the onions are translucent add the tomatoes with the Tomato sauce, curry leaves and the spices.

Turn the stove down to medium high, cover and let it cook for about five ten minutes, till everything is mixed and the tomatoes are cooked.

Once it is simmered well, adjust the spices as per your taste and serve it with boiled rice.
