Ghee

Another easy and most used in Indian cooking is Ghee or clarified butter. If we buy it in the store it is pretty expensive. I make it with unsalted butter in the microwave for seven or eight minutes maximum. You could use it to spread it on Roti or even season the lentils and cook them. It surely tastes better with ghee than any oil as it is richer.

  • In a corning ware add 1 tbsp. flour and the sticks of butter
  • Place the dish in the microwave for five minutes on high.
  • Stir it a little and place it back in the microwave for another three minutes.
  • Let it cool down. Once it cools down strain it in a bottle and the ghee is ready to use.
